    * Why do you want a Border collie?

    * What is your main goal with this puppy or dog?

    * When did you become interested in Border collies?

    * What does your ideal Border collie look like?

    * Would you be willing to take your puppy or dog to an obedience class?

    * When would you start your dog or puppy obedience class?

    * Describe your experience with the breed.

    * Specific information about what you are looking for in a dog or puppy.



    * How much time will you take to exercise the dog daily?

    * How much time will the dog be alone and not have family connection?

    * Have you ever been to a herding trial?

    * Would you be interested in entering your dog into herding?

    * Have you ever been to an agility trial?

    * Would you enter a class to learn agility?

    * Would you enter your dog in a show ring?



    * If you are purchasing a dog for a companion, how do you feel about a spay/neuter contract on the dog
      you will be purchasing?


    * How do you feel about having an intact dog for breeding?

    * Have you ever bred a dog for selling a litter?  What results followed?



    * Do you have a crate in your home?  Do you plan to use one?

    * Do you have a crate in your vehicle?  Do you plan to use one?

    * Have you thought about how you will transport your new dog?

    * Do you have a doggy seat belt?

    * Where will you keep your dog during the day?

    * Where will you keep your dog at night?

    * What will you do with your dog on vacation?

    * When you are not home for a lengthy time?



    * Do you have a fenced yard?

    * How big is your yard?

    * What is the height of your fence?

    * Do you have a dog run?

    * What type of flooring does the dog run have?

    * Will the dog be able to get out of the yard?



    * How many dogs and other animals have you owned in the past five years?

    * What breed of dog did you have?

    * How many dogs do you own now?  What other pets do you have now?

    * How social are your animals that you now own?

    * How do you feel the pets you now have will get along with a new addition?

    * Describe the dogs in your neighborhood?



    * What brand of dog food do you feed your dogs now?

    * What brand of dog or puppy food do you feel is suitable for a Border collie?

    * How do you feel about feeding your dog or puppy a nutritious dog food?

    * How active is your family, like active outside activities you would be doing with your dog?

    * What is an active dog?

    * What is an intelligent dog?

    * What is the ideal temperament that the Border collie would have in your house?

    * How often do the other animals in your house visit the vet?

    * What purpose do you expect of the puppy: agility, herding, show, search and rescue, fly-ball, therapy, or
      companion?

    * What sex and color:  (if it makes any difference), do you prefer?

    * What energy level do you prefer, high, medium or low?  Why?

    * Tell me the energy level of the person who will spend the most time in the family with the dog,
      exercising  it?
